I kept looking and tried to get closer since it appeared the one on the ground was an eagle. Sure enough with a picture (rather bad one) to prove it there stood an eagle white head and all. As I inched closer he flew off and I went to where he was standing and there was a raccoon that he had killed. The next day it was gone. I was leaving my orchard the other day and saw a rather large bird sitting on the ground with another circling low above it. There was a bald eagle sitting on it's perch in a cage, bedraggled & forlorn looking, so much so that I cried. I hope it's not legal to keep these in zoos anymore except as in Mardi's case, wherein they are being rehabilitated. :( Fly high & free Mardi! :)
