Icy roads are very serious and the danger is not always obvious until it is two late. During our blizzard (I think in 1993 or 94 ), I was driving in the snow on Hwy. 4 in Jay, and as I crossed what looked like a cleared spot on the black top of the road, my SUV began to spin, and I hadn't even hit the brakes. I do not know how may times it spun before it stopped and began spinning in the opposite direction. It finally stopped on the other side of the highway by someones mailbox, and facing the highway. When I walked into Jay hospital to deliver the blood sample in my care, the admissions lady tried to admit me to the ER. She said I looked as white as a ghost. Thankfully, she said she was going to pray for me the rest of the day. That was not a fun ride. Please just stay home if you do not have to be on the road. The ice is not always visible.

For those who don't absolutely have to be on the roads this weekend, please stay home. Your being on the roads during icy weather endangers not only your life, but the lives of others, to b include first responders.

With the promise of rain, I'm banking on ice, especially on the bridges. You won't see me out sightseeing.

I'd rather it be 1/2" snow than ice. I don't never want to see ice on our roads again that was a mess!
