@mike– can you read ? Moreover, do you comprehend what you are reading ? If you did, you would clearly see my comments are realistic and conservative, definately pro-victim. Furthermore, being a convicted felon is irrelevant. Besides, i was a stupid 16 year old kid at the time and continue to pay everyday of my life by a lack of choices. But i don’t cry about not being able to work like most felons. Infact, i’ve made over $35k per year since two years after my release and currently make $50-55k depending on overtime. So check your insensitive comment (to the victims families) before trying to make me look bad. Good day sir.

This is another attack against victims rights. In any other circumstance, sentancing is applied at the judge’s discretion. That’s the responsibility as a judge. In this new age of pc bleeding hearts through multimedia brainwashing, jurors will be less likely to vote death in deserving cases than would a judge. While i agree the death penalty is not a deterrent in the current manner it’s carried out and applied (more likely to die of old age), it is the only relief offered to victims families and the States Supreme Court has just mucked it up.

One of the cases was where the subject killed his girlfriend and her child. The judge said FAIRNESS needed to be applied. When will the courts and judges ever look at the real world. There are some people that need to be put to death in a timely manner. Giving them a life time in prison just endangers C.O.’s and others.

Release all those that are up for resentencing (save court costs and time) WITH the requirement that they remain free ONLY if they move next door to a Justice’s home that voted for the resentencing. Problem solved.
