The most discouraging thing about they way the Department Of Corrections Employees are treated, a new hire officer makes about $60.00 less per paycheck tan a 20 year veteran officer. So much for longevity and loyalty. Most haven't had a raise in 8 years! I agree with the law enforcement officers...but some of the others listed...really the Lottery, legal affairs and etc. This Gov has his favorites....not all inclusive group! I seemed to have picked up several "pings" of late. As for any LEO, CO or any state recognized sworn officer, the raise should be applicable to them as well. No usually they don't have a gun - but lots of other ways to injure or give them HIV, etc. Come on Governor Scott - look out for the DOC.
