I believe in forgiveness also. However, in this case it should only come after the consequences of his actions have been completed and he shows remorse. Further, he has a terminal illness. What should be done, say it's ok and make him Sunday School teacher ? One more thing, he should be put "on blast"with a sign on front of his residence upon his release stating what he did.
