This reader believes the subject killing deer at night is likely selling meat.
A word regarding the commercial captain with undersized fish.. Sometimes a captain won’t see what’s going in the box.. Deckhands get paid on the amount of fish and I’m sure there are some that don’t know 10 inches from 24. Captains are sometimes holding the boat in place instead of anchoring.

Law enforcement is one of the few occupations that cannot be taken over by robots and automation. It takes unique individuals, one on one, face to face with strangers in the woods, or, on a roadside, and even on a front porch, with a desire to do a hazardous job, often, facing unknown felons, and in the case of wildlife officers, firearms, most often in the possession of the possible suspects.
