Manslaughter is a Class B Felony. Rule 7.2 of the Alabama Rules of Criminal Procedure sets out a Bail Schedule which a judge can only depart from, if there are reason put on the record, during a hearing, as to why he should. Reason to depart are evidence that he is a flight risk (is packing his belongings) or a danger to the community (a habitual criminal). The bail schedule for Class B Felonies, which Manslaughter is one, is $5,000 to $30,000. I knew Donna, and despite her quirks, she was a good person! Now her babies will have to grow up (especially her girls) knowing that this monster shot and killed their mom and, because of our justice system, was able to be released on his mediocre bond and Mickey Mouse charge! He should be charged with Murder, not Manslaughter, and should've had no bond! $25,000 bond for shooting a mother of 4! I knew Donna, and despite her quirks, she was a good person!
