All seriousness though … Hope the ECUA driver and anyone else who MAY have been involved are all doing well. I agree with others that it looks like wild ride for ECUA driver.

Yes, but mostly NO. ECUA is not county-owned; however, they are a government entity.

William, “technically speaking” ECUA is only a contractor and NOT a county-owned entity so it’s really not a government truck. I know it’s all just semantics but hey…….. either way it looks like the ECUA driver had a pretty wild ride. Hope all recover well.

Maybe. Maybe there are two other vehicles we don’t see. Maybe it was a four vehicle crash. See?

We didn’t have enough info to be specific, other than the obvious involvement of the ECUA truck. Don’t ordinarily run such terribly vague stories, but felt the pictures were worth running since it involves a government owned truck, and people like to know why their power was out.

Looks like that black truck in the lower picture might have been involved. (Such as a head on collision) The damage to the trash truck cannot be explained by the strike to the pole alone. Look closely at the damage on ECUA truck. There is black paint in there. Seems like the op should have said: “An Emerald Coast Utilities Authority truck was involved in a two vehicle accident Friday morning near Jay that left numerous Escambia River Electric Cooperative customers without power.”

Looking at pics it looks like the truck ran off the road, across a ditch and hit a pole.

Wild ride.

Hope the driver was buckled in.
