They have done a terrific job making this SOUND pro-solar. After reading this article and the comments, I decided to investigate a little further. This Amendment is actually ANTI-SOLAR. A NO Vote is in actually in order, I believe. Just the fact that it is FULLY backed by the utility companies ought to be enough to tell you it certainly is not supporting PRIVATE solar powering!

Mike,
You have it backwards. A YES vote means the costs for solar sets solely on those who opt for solar. I don't have solar and I don't want a surcharge on my bill to compensate solar users when they can't produce enough energy due to cloudy days or overages. The reason solar users want this defeated is because they will be required to brunt the full expenses of their "green energy."

Vote NO on this Amendment 1 it is another back sided lawyer worded sneak attack on us who use electricity.

NEVER should have been an Amendment to the State Constitution at all.

NO -- NO -- NO to Amendment 1

Remember how the power companies, including Gulf Power, SCAMMED us by adding a fee to our bills for Development of Nuclear Power Plants? They Never got built and the Millions upon Millions of dollars went...where?

Am I reading this wrong?
The proposal also includes a more-contentious provision, which states that people who haven’t installed solar on their property “are NOT required to subsidize the costs of backup power and electric grid access to those who do.”
From the the post before me I am not sure......ARE NOT REQUIRED TO SUBSIDIZE THOSE WHO DO

Why should someone who is not using solar have their rates raised to subsidize those who do? I am already paying too much for electric I have no interest in paying more.

Those things are made outta glass, right? Hurricanes come thru here, & Gulp Power wants to pass the expense of setting them up for those who can afford them onto those of us that can't? I vote no, :(
