Thank goodness the intelligent (and educated) people of Escambia County continue to vote for half cent sales tax that funds this construction. In the comments the person who stated Escambia is one of the poorest and least educated in the State should do their research. According to Recent Census data Escambia County ranks in the mid third at the bottom in poverty and mid way in education. It is too bad people comment about things without proper research. . And people believe them! As to the name at Beulah, my oldest child went to Woodham High and I have no problem losing that name. At UWF in the 60s I worked with the namesake Dr Jessie Woodham, fine man. His name lived a long time at that school. Retire it and move on. As a former District employee I also know how important it is to close schools and build new where population has moved. And thank goodness Navy Federal is favorably impacting that area of Escambia. Saw it today and road construction is awesome too. All good news.
