I well remember John F. Kennedy's speech before our men in uniform boarded a ship bound for Cuba from the Soviet Union with nuclear weapons and our then president demanding that they turn back to the Soviet Union. So many ships standing by prepared for a war and as a young mother with small children, my thoughts were of myself and my children as their dad was on one of those ships. Thank God our president's demands were met and war was avoided. As the years have passed and I see so many people not respecting God, our country, and our flag my heart breaks for the many brave men and women who have given so much to our country.
