The light turns green. I hit the gas and take off like many of the other drivers around me, accelerating towards that 45mph zone I know is up ahead. If instead, the light would change from red to flashing yellow (just like the light posts marking the beginning of the school zone) I would remember that I'm still in that 20mph zone and drive accordingly.
