Keep an eye out for upcoming announcements on meetings for 9 Mile Rd. and for Pine Forest Rd improvements. I got in at the last minute to talk to someone at this meeting and they said there are some public meetings coming up to address these in the future. Gosh I hope so. Almost missed this meeting as I forgot it until it was almost too late when I got there. *fingers crossed for improvements in the future

I don’t understand why Escambia county seems to take pride in remaining 20 years behind the times. Here we’re going to waste 4 years and millions of dollars just 6 lane Hwy 29 to 9 1/2 Mile road….Hey FDOT, ya’ll realize the majority of the traffic still goes north right?
Take the six lane to Kingsfield road so we don’t have this same headache in 10 years….you know, like we did when you just finished widening Highway 29 up to the interstate about 6 years ago.

How about stopping the train? Until they build a bridge over 9 mile so the traffic keeps moving on 9 mile, they are wasting their time. I suggest studying street maps to take the back streets that are available. We don’t talk about them, but they are there Creighton Rd, Davis to 9th Ave, is not worth your life They need a few police on that road for a month to slow drivers down.

I’m all for good jobs in Escambia Co. , but if you think traffic is bad now wait till Navy Federal gets into full swing . The problem with Escambia Co . Is they are 15 years behind on roads . l realize some of the roads are state roads and not county.

I feel like the traffic on 9 mile is ridiculous. And it’s only going to get worse because of the new navy federal expansion. We need to widen 9 mile as well as 29 and pine forest!

Well, there will be more traffic going down both Chemstrand’s, 95A, Kingsfield, et al starting next month it appears. At least they’re fixing it, finally. Not excited about the time frame but it’s a solution so no point in complaining.

Traffic on Hwy 29 improves after a certain point but then you’re stuck at light after light after light. Maybe something will improve the flow. I’m hoping either myself or someone can go to THIS meeting to get direct contact info for our input about Pine Forest. Maybe it’s being considered and we just don’t know yet but I’m hoping to find out who to contact. Empire Truck Sales is building on Detroit Blvd and the owner has already been trying to find out if they are doing anything about Pine Forest, especially at Detroit Blvd. I’ve lived out here since 1981 and stay frustrated at not being able to even get out on to Pine Forest anymore. I usually end up going down Detroit to Hwy 29 to go into town.

I agree with “M”. A large part of the problem with Highway 29 is the lights are not synchronized, and hold too long at many of the smaller intersections. The current situation wastes time, money, and gasoline. Perhaps part of their project will be to adjust the lights – that would be a good question for the public meeting. Every time I drive down Airport Blvd (which I try to avoid as much as possible), I think of how excited I was when they four laned it, thinking how much quicker it would be to get from I-110 to the Airport, Sam’s, the Mall, etc. Instead, they have turned that road into a parking lot with all the extra traffic signals between Davis and 9th. I hope the Highway 29 project turns out better, but I’m not holding my breath.
