I think it is a shame to charge $50 for bricks. The history of Century High School was destroyed a long time ago when the school was shut down.

Not just curious but annoying also.
Please be aware that Noone can make you buy a brick And we're always free to do our own thing.

Now let us know when and how to purchase the brick. I have a friend that passed away several years ago and will likely get one for "Dr. Pepper" also.

This seems like a very expensive project! I attended Century High School, as did my mother, sister, my husband, and our kids. If my math skills are correct, a pile of FREE bricks will bring $150,000 IF they are all "purchased." The school is gone, but our memories will live on forever. Century is a poor town already. If this much money could be raised from alumni of this fine old school, could it not be put to better use toward something that would be of benefit to the whole town? If a "monument" is built, let some of the local people build it, not with engraved bricks, but simply with the bricks given for free from the old school. There are many ways to give acknowledgement of any donations, etc. For many years the old school sat empty, in disrepair. No one was stirred to make any expensive monuments until a tornado came through the town. I feel more for those who lost their homes, posessions,

>>Why is the brick sold for $50 a piece? Where does the money go towards?

The engraving, shipping the brick to the engraver, the brick mason to create the monument, upkeep, etc.

Most engraved brick projects in the area charge $100 per brick or more.
