The driver was not charged because the FHP investigation showed that she was obeying the speed and traffic regulations when the accident occurred; unfortunately your mother stepped into the path of a moving vehicle. I am sure that the driver of the vehicle feels pain for the accident as well; however, it was just that- an accident. The driver of the vehicle was not negligent in this instance. I hope that you are able to find peace and know that your mother is in a better place now. Summer, I am sorry for your loss.
