Condolences to family of deceased and prayers for all involved in this terrible wreck.

Sorrento Road was widened, many years ago, with poles set back, water and sewer lines set back, all In preparation to 4-LANE the road.
Nothing has been done to move that forward.
Results are the ever expanding number of people living there are forced to have more cars on an unsatisfactory roadway and accidents are all but inevitable.

Why hasn’t Sorrento been made into the long-ago planned 4-Lane?
Foot dragging by the Escambia County Commissioners to work with FL DOT for one thing.
Time to 4-lane Sorrento…some of the weight of sorrow from accidents there rests on the shoulders of our BOCC.
Good roads Save Lives.

Also if FHP investigates and the deceased is determined to be at fault, that helps other drivers insurance settle claims and if someone is severely injured then it determines who would be sued. In case of the person at fault being deceased they would have to sue that person’s estate. Not commenting on this accident, just in general. Unfortunately I have been hit a couple of times…

That is why if your married you only put one name on the title and insurance that way they can’t go after the spouse. That is what I was told. Rip to the deceased and prayers for the other victims.

I’m getting to the point where I watch the oncoming traffic more than the road ahead.
I remember my drivers ed teacher telling us if we are driving 35 mph, and the car coming toward us is is doing the same, then if we hit it would be a 70 mph impact. That didn’t sound good to me.

Speaking in general terms, not about this specific wreck, the at-fault driver could be deceased but charges could still be filed against against a surviving driver even if they did not cause the accident.. DUI, suspended driver’s license, improper lights..see the possibilities?
