First of not all prisoners are monsters you have ppl who drove with suspended license and did it numerous times and because so sentenced years in prison or teens who drove drunk someone dies involuntarily manslaughter ok so bottom line don’t assume all prisoners are animals no one deserves to be mistreated they shouldn’t be made comfortable but at same time have livable conditions and some officers are scums having a uniform doesn’t mean that there perfect some are violent and sick in the head too ok so please stop with the judging

Scott, false a job is considered mandatory. There is just isn’t enough jobs to go around. Many inmates can’t be trusted with a job due to their criminal offences.

REGARDING:

If we listened to all they said, we would know they want to be released to prey on even more people.

On the other hand, they must like it there — or at least some of them — because we can see all the things some others do without winding up in prison.
I suspect some enjoy the male companionship.

Even better, stay stateside and research Tent City in Maricopa County, Arizona. Prisoners wear pink clothing, eat day old bread donated to the county, and live in large communal tents, in the desert. That’s outdoors, folks. And the sheriff has been re-elected several times. Why do we coddle lawbreakers?

Many of the comments imply the prisoners are in violation of some required action. Having a prison job is not a mandatory requirement of their sentence. At best, prison jobs can be viewed as extracurricular activities — thus freeing inmates from the around-the-clock confinement of their cells. States make use of this labor pool to save taxpayers money.

It’s always about the money.
