I agree that the Officers and other employees need a raise at least to the level that is paid to other law enforcement. They need training and adequate tools to do their job without being injured. Correctional Officers is one of the few jobs where you can be physically assaulted and become the
Accused by Liberals and money grubbing lawyers and family members who before the incident wouldn’t give a nickel for the inmate.

I would not go with the PBA. It is my belief, perception and personal opinion that The PBA protects the sorry, featherbeds the rolls and is a tool of the Democrats. One should see how they use their money. Especially, the money that comes in from telephone solicitations.

There has always been a lack of professionalism and a lack of integrity in this department. There should be raises but that is only one minor change among many that need to be made. The economy is terrible people are hungry for work. Raise wages but also start requiring a 2 year degree for all new hires. Raised wages means raised standards enough of the good old boy crap.

I really can’t understand the states logic in not giving these people a raise in 6 years. I have found that what you pay for is usually going to determine what you get. 6 years without a pay raise has probably left them way behind the rest of law enforcement in this state.

I hope that you women and men are successful in your efforts to unionize your occupation.

Odd work for little pay. Changes certainly need to be made, to benefit COs and their families.

The state is wasting their time and our money on training for new officers without giving them a raise. Some of the NEW HIRES quit before their training is complete. It cost over $3,000.00 to send a CO to school and they quit. Something’s wrong and we all know what it is. Quit the state job a get welfare, that’s a raise for our correction officers.
