I like John, would like to hear the whole & the real story, before I say too much. But, I will say if she left on her own, & no harm was coming to her from home besides discipline, when she in the wrong, she would need a swift kick in the rear as I used to hear, if someone helped her, then both need both need one, these kids do not know what parents go through nor do they care. I heard on the news that pretty much she said or though that her parents assumed or might assume she was dead, so she just didn't go back. What? Shaking my head. Now, if someone kidnapped & held her that is a totally different story, but it still doesn't explain the fact that she would continue not to contact her parents. This story simply does not add up. My kid prolly most definitely would have worried she might get her rearend in trouble.

@Jeeperman,

 "How do you know that she was detained by another? She could be a run-a-way"

That was also stated in the writer's post when they used the word "Harboring". Harboring, or hiding a runaway juvenile, is illegal.

Someone was either harboring or detaining this juvenile, in violation of the law.

After all this ado, someone should be prosecuted.
