He was an amazing friend. We were really close he used to come and hang out all the time. I’ll never forget the day this happened I still thank about what a great person he was he had such and uplifting spirit and wanted nothing more then to make other happy. This guy was my childhood /rolemodel basically my brother he was definitely my family. I miss him you never know what you have until well…….. He’s gone I’ll miss him terribly my hometown won’t ever be my home town without him. I some times cry because honestly why does someone that good of a guy have to die its not fair (well exclude he was a compulsive liar:; everyone has flaws) I love you brother. Sucks without u but I’m just glad to see what a real person is and at least I had some real family in my life because even though your dead shawn right about now your about the only family that’s never did me wrong and p.s I still get mad when I see tracks or even hear Shawn or Florida so thanks man but really headphones I could punch you!!!!!!……. In memory Shawn Rhineburger always in my thoughts and also stick in there to his mother she took it the worst most of all I miss you family god bless tear ;(

I remember all the times I would go to Shawn’s house nearly every chance I could I really am going to miss him he was like a older brother to me he saved my life many times and me and him would sing together all the time I am glade that I got to know him I will never forget how great of a friend he really was heartbroken to hear of his death and I still remember the last time me and him hung out it was at church I wish he were still around He always cheered me up when I was feeling down and he always had an optimistic view on everything even my choices He never was mean ever he was the kindest most generous and caring person I ever knew he was a true angle of a guy too many people ignored him while he never let anything put him down he is a one of a kind friend and I will forever miss him this world needs more people like shawn he is a good person with a pure soul

I knew Shawn like a brother. We shared a mutual bond through music. We both played guitar together, and when we messed up, would always crack jokes at each other. He was a bullheaded SOB, but we more than got along. I’m gonna miss him terribly.

I knew him. He was a good person. All he ever wanted to do was help others. And it really hurts that this happened… He will be missed. Everyone knew him as “Hippie”. He was such a kind soul… RIP..

Tragic. Why walk on tracks especially wearing headphones? How can one not feel the vibrations of an approaching train, or the horn? So sad.
