I have yet to see a log truck traveling at the the speed of 80 mph on Muscogee, if that was the case, there would be a high rate of accidents. DOT monitors this road and further down on 112, most truckers know not to fly through these areas. Why should log trucks pay to bring loads to a local plant? Maybe the residents complaining won't mind when they can't purchase needed resources that are provided by logs taken into that plant. If the county can pave this side road, then they can pave Muscogee, but sadly the decision makers choose to pave certain roads for the wrong reasons. Muscogee needs the work, not this side road.

You have to wonder why they are paving any side roads when Muscogee Rd itself has needed paving for years. They have finally done something with Jacks Branch which they are to be commended for. They should set-up a toll booth at the paper mill and collect a toll from all the log trucks running Muscogee and causing most of the damage since they can't seem to ever find a normal safe speed...... they seem to always want to do 80 or 30, nothing in between.
