I just cannot comprehend why these kids/young adults chose to rob anyone especially convenience stores! They have now ruined all of their futures! Good jobs/careers will not hire a felon! Such a shame they chose this path & unfortunately will pay dearly for the remainder of their life! I know their parents/grandparents/family are broken-hearted! The youth these days seem to act without thinking of consequences.
Maybe the schools need to bring in a reformed ex-con to talk to kids about what a onetime stupid decision can do to your entire life & drop art or music. I don't know or have the answers but someone needs to start thinking of ways to reach these kids at the middle school age & again in high school. If you pay attention we are hearing & reading more & more stories just like this one, this tell me crime is increasing within our youth!
Instead of overflowing our jails & prisons which cost A LOT of money to house they (our leaders) need to spend money NOW for prevention!
Our system is flawed, no one wants to spend any time or money on our future generations by educating them on REAL LIFE vs. consequences. It's like if they don't discuss or bring it up it won't happen! But after these crimes take place, they are in the system & can get to resources but it's too late then!
I would like to see Escambia County & the surrounding areas show us (the public) the percentages of youth/young adults crime rates vs. 5, 10 even 15 years ago! You would be shocked of the increase! Please strongly urge the leaders of Escambia County & the surrounding counties to change the broken system in place. It can only better the place YOU call home!!!
