They might be young but they knew what they were doing. This isn’t the first time (from what I understand) that they have been in some trouble. They are all 16 and well aware of the actions they are doing and the consequences that follow. I don’t feel that they should get life but a little time in DJJ and house arrest is not gonna get the job done to rehabilitate (if there is actually a chance for rehabilitation). I pray for all that are involved in this from victims to the ones that committed this crazy crime.

REGARDING:

Console yourself with the thought that prison is full of people who failed at crime.
Anything they teach is likely to be how to continue to fail.
( It would be interesting if that is why there are more in prison over time.)

By the way, please define “showing out”.
Is it synonymous with the current charges?
If not, how and why does it differ?

Justifying misdeeds is often worse to the misdeeds because it implies much more of the same is a good thing, or at not a very bad thing.
What if they learn to aim?

So sad.. Young lives wasted. Now these boys will probably spend at least 20 years in jail. And who is going to pay for their sorry butts while they do nothing all day doing their time? Me and all the other hard working tax paying citizens of Florida, that’s the sad part. Now some young man or woman trying to get a start in life is being taxed to support punks like this, that is what is a waste. I am not sad for them one bit and their lives aren’t wasted they chose to throw them away.

I think it is commendable the citizens got involved to notifying ESCO and help apprehend the criminals. As far as the attempted murder charge, if shots had been fired upon sworn deputies, they would have returned the fire and ended the attempt upon their lives. No matter the extenuating circumstances or the remorse demonstrated by the criminals facts still stand. They were given another chance with probation. I say guilty as charged and I am glad they are going to be punished and removed from society. There were a menace.

To all who remark about “poor boys” and so on– would you be saying the same thing if the shooter had killed the victim in this case or a member of your family?. They stole a car— stole other property and almost killed two other people in a wreck. This is not the first time for these three– plus how many others times have they done the same thing. If I or my family had been almost killed by them I would not be as forgiving as some people.Those who keep saying they are just kids– they have learned how the play the system very well and have shown they’ll lie about any thing. Prison will be just a training center to show them how to beat the system better. So, two of these young men were on probation for previous crimes as juveniles. They were violating probation for associating with criminals. Why wasn’t that one of the charges?
Someone posted earlier that one of them lost their mother years ago to murder. So, is he trying to do the same thing? Losing a parent is not an excuse for bad behavior. Many children lose parents in some form. They don’t resort to crime and attempted murder.
Hopefully, this will be the wake up call they need? Although not likely.
