60% goes to taxes straight off the top.
Then, you pay TAXES on everything you buy.
Then, you will be taxed at 60% on the rest, every year until it is all gone in TAXES !!

@Bill, do not be so hard on John. A two dollar chance on a 1.2 billion payout is something even a scratchie fiend despising person such as myself will put money on.

I would consult with lawyers as my first action upon winning. It would be wonderful to be able to set up a foundation and be a philanthropist. A trust for my Children.

A Baptist Tabernacle, a rural nightclub with it’s own private drag strip/runway and a home for wayward women are high on my list also.

@ Steve…..Me too.
Guess folks feel like the stores closest to the state line are the luckiest.
Where I got mine there was no line for tickets but the clerk said they expected a rush just before the selling time closed.

Will be interesting to see how high the prize goes between today and Wednesday night…..Good Luck to US.

I wouldn’t recommend the Lottery as the best way to invest or build for retirement. But at 1.3 billion, I’ll buy a ticket.
