Much depends on both the end and the means.
For example, if the end were the salvation of all life on the planet, some pretty extreme means would be justified. (They would not be justified if the earth were not in danger or if the means didn’t have any effect on saving it.)
Conversely, if the end were cutting noise around you, using the means of killing all your neighbors would not be justified. (Especially since prison would be even noisier afterward.)

If the end is to stop illegal immigration, would you feel justified to use the means of killing every man, woman, child and duck which entered America?

If the end is to get rid of illegal immigrants, would you feel justified in killing all suspects? As was said, “If you hang all suspects, you are sure to get the guilty.”

What if the next president has ends which call for your elimination? or even worse: MINE! Remember his ends and your ends may not agree all the time. Would you want him empowered to completely ignore your representative and the laws congress has hammered out over the years?

Further, what if his means don’t cure the end? It is believed many of FDR’s programs extended the Great Depression rather than shortening it. What if Trump’s means destroyed the economy (say nothing to leading to all out biological warfare)? You may thing he is smart, but what if he really isn’t?

You might notice he isn’t long on solid proposals and when he speaks, his words ignore reality way too often. We should never follow a leader simply because he leads so well if he is leading us off a cliff.

Thank you, David, for using correct spelling, punctuation, proper grammar, and complete sentences in your responses. The replies from Trump supporters are sadly lacking in those areas, and that fact leads to the inference that the writers are probably lacking in the area of logical thinking.

I don’t support Trump because he’s bigoted, highly offensive, and reminds me of a schoolyard bully: no class and sadly deficient in morals.

Build a wall? Yeah, that’s a BRILLIANT idea! History has shown us just what a great thought that is.

I’m not a Hillary fan, but I want to know what she did that made her a failure as a wife and mother, neither of which would really indicate her success as a president. I think she’d be horrible, yes, but she’d probably be no worse than Trump.

Still haven’t decided which of the OTHER candidates will receive my vote.

I love Donald Trump…and appreciate the fact that he is paying for his campaign and won’t be bought. Every other candidate is taking money from special interest.
Trump is honest, outspoken, politically incorrect just the opposite of all these polished politicians. We still don’t have a wall around our borders and Trump is just the man to get the job done. Many companies are leaving this country and so are the jobs. Trump is the leader that can solve the problem and bring jobs back. The amount of money we are giving other countries considering our debt doesn’t make sense, it’s insane.
I’m conservative but disgusted with the republican party they have no guts….. what they are good at is making promises and speeches. Since Trump came on the scene they are all stepping up their game. He speaks from the heart and really care about this country.

Hillery may actually be less of a factor now that she has a two front FBI investigation against her and that is part of the Executive Branch.

And regarding her accomplishments, let’s see, she failed as a wife, a mother, secretary of state, and she will fail as president!!

I love Donald Trump…. He deserves a lot more credit then people give him!
1. The fact that he is not taking money to run his campaign from special interest groups or anyone. He won’t be bought and persuaded by others ..just the American people. However, EVERY OTHER CANDIDATE IS TAKING MONEY to run their campaign and spending millions.
2. He will build a wall around our borders and have people come in legally, he was the only one that had the guts to bring this important issue to the forefront. But none of those politicians that are now running for president were able to do anything about the immigration issue over the years and the wall never got built. Politicians are all talk and no action.
3. Trump is not politically correct he speaks the truth like it or not. I like it! it’s so refreshing. As Americans we better decide how we want our county run he is not putting fear in people as some would state. People can see for themselves how this country is being run down and what a bad job the politicians have done. I am conservative but the republicans have no courage and I am disgusted with the way things have been run over the years.
4. He has a good tax plan and if you make under $50,000 you will pay no tax.
5. Americans are the most giving people but Trump is right about China, Japan, Mexico and other countries taking advantage of us. Companies are leaving America and taking the jobs this affects ALL americans. Companies are hiring foreigners and firing Americans. He knows how to create jobs and bring them back to America.
6. Donald Trump is waking people up something this country needs, he is a leader that’s why the other candidates are becoming more bold and outspoken since he came on the seen. He has done a lot of good for a lot of people things you don’t hear about. He even rebuilt the ice skating ring in NY when the city didn’t have the money and so much more…..
He doesn’t use telepromters, or have speeches written and practice what he is going to say as the other candidates do…… he speaks from the heart and I hear what he is saying!
Although he is under budget for running his campaign it;s a great expense for using his plane, gas and so much more being constantly on the road it’s a wonderful thing that he has done. How generous…
Thank you Mr. Trump for standing up for our country without being politically correct, and for having the courage to tell the truth … I STAND WITH YOU LET’S MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!

He’s obnoxious.
He lies or can’t tell the difference between reality and fantasy.
He has assured us he can get Mexico to build and pay for a wall between them and us.
This implies HE is a fool or he thinks I am for believing such hogwash.
He curses microphones. This is vulgar and childish.
He throws fits and tantrums.
He strikes me as a stupid loudmouth. (I could be wrong but what if he strikes others the same way? Some of whom have nuclear weapons and are sensitive to insults!)
He has promised to do a number of things which are a violation of law, justice, Christianity, human decency and reason.
I suspect he is running to assure a real Republican is NOT elected by being such a petty piece of pomposity that we might be tempted to vote instead for a lady who doesn’t understand why it matters how we failed to keep her people from being slaughtered by terrorists and has promised to ignore the parts of the Constitution she dislikes or a man who thinks America just needs to be socialist.

That’s just off the top of my head.
If I paid attention, I might think of more.
