In South Fl, 15 years ago, Wexford had numerous nurses at Charlotte CI. They had a Crisis Stabilization and Transitional Care Unit for mental health inmates. Thrre was also Close Management 1,2,&3. There was also Medical grade 1 thru 4.
You could count on your fingers the nurses who were regular during a year period. CO Darla Latham was killed one evening, by plumbing squad inmates who were in Administrative Confinement per the IG office for having drugs smuggled in to sell on the compound. The weapons they used were fashioned by tools as they were allowed to continue their plumbing duties. The drugs were brought in by their supervisor, a CO of 10 years. Darla was killed by faulty training as she was not yet certified and had no business escorting numerous inmates at night unrestrained by herself.
My point being to Dan. Co's bring in most of the contraband and cause much of the crap that goes on, not contract medical personel as he would have you believe.
From the 1980's thru 2000's i've worked Apalachee East, Raiford, the East Unit (FSP), Lake Butler, and Charlotte. So i think i have a little experience where the real action happened at. Besides, the murder rate is much lower in prisons than the street and most of them are gaurds killing inmates not the other way around.

Great idea mrs jones let temporary employees through your gates everyday not knowing if they will have a job tomorrow or not. As if your contraband problem isn't big enough you make the decision to let people in the gate that possibly will never be back your decision making is very elementary obviously you know nothing about prison even though you're in charge of all of them. This is very sad that politics could possibly get someone killed

Its like state employees and the legislators think, "Hey, I'm gonna give this company my falling down, rotten mobile home and mangy dogs, then they're gonna come in build me a better home, add me a new porch, and get my dogs fixed with shiny new collars and I wont have to pay them or my bank any more than I'm paying now. Probably less. And everything that goes wrong with my place after they done, I'll get to blame on them and my neighbors can sue them every time they don't like something. Yeah, I'll just find me some dumb idiot company that will take that deal." Oh, and my boy, Greg Evers, can walk around my place questioning everybody's manhood in case they start to feel professional about what they are doing. Yeah, that will work. Let's do that."
