That way you have a good chance of getting out of the way if a car/truck is about to hit you. Also, you should not walk in the road if possible. Can't tell you how many times I have seen people walking in the same direction as the traffic with head phones on and eyes on the ground in front of them where they have no idea what is coming at them from behind. Driving the same route (US 29) I see a LOT more walkers than I do stranded auto's. Most of those walkers should have on brighter clothing or IF their car stalled, they should have a flashlight in the glove compartment....ya think??? Agree with Joy!
