i remember when it was little g's. my friends would plan the day to go to the river. on the way back we would stop & order something to eat, just to refuel to continue having a good time. went there every Sunday. the burgers was the bomb. sorry to see it go. then it became a watering hole to start a new chapter. through the good times & bad, it turned out to be the most popular spot for folks to hang out & catch up on whats been going on. also to make new memories. i loved the people that worked there as well the people who went there. the one who did this should fess up & undo what she or he had done. i'm so glad no one was hurt. mentally the only ones were hurt was the owner, employees & patrons..that's sad. like the owner said on tv, if you needed something, JUST ASK. just plain & simple. this is a coward who did this. i'm praying that you can rebuild. if i can help, please let me know. love all.

I was a bartender there for several years, I remember the good days and the bad days. They are all good memories. For Beulah a piece of history is gone . I was bartender when it was called Tavern n the Country . I knew the owner very well. R.I.P. Doug B. Graham.

@Richard Gates, I used to eat at "Little Gs" back circa 81, 82 and the food was great.
It was nice to eat on the picnic tables, under the shady oaks.

I was stationed at Keesler AFB back then and sold the hostess there on joining the USAF. I cannot remember her name, though I do remember she was an underclassman from my Tate High days (76). She was a nice hostess and I hope that she is prospering.

I never frequented the bar as it seemed a little tame, though I do know that many people enjoyed the neighborhood atmosphere there.

I have lived in the Beulah community for 49 years. I was born here and raised 3 great kids here. I will probably die here. With that being sad, the hole in the wall (The Tavern) has had its ups and downs through the years but it was a meeting place for some of the most colorful residents of Beulah. When my father passed in the 80"s, I was young and full of mischief. My first thought was to go drown my sorrows at the local watering hole. What I got out of that trip was not a hangover, but a life lesson from one of the older patrons that made me think about what I needed to do instead of what I wanted to do. My point is that it may not be a town hall, or even a church, but it was a community meeting place that I went to and listened to the latest gossip or to hear about that big buck that was killed by one of the patrons. It was a part of the community and like it or not, it holds memories too. I heard a customer at Tom Thumb say that the Baptist ought to be happy that it burned. Maybe so but I for one went there and I think I turned out ok or at least my family thinks so. I hope that when all is said and done, the Arsonist that did this deed is punished to the full extent of the law and I hope that it can be rebuilt!

Im with Beulah residents (especially Beulah Betty). I feel the same way about Molino area and our two small rivers. Where you hardly seen any now are many. Worse, the many act as if they been here forever and know about everything. Sorry to the wanna be hunter on Escambia River last weekend. I know nothing of your finger padded gloves so you can text from your stand. Was hunting coons with daddy on Parker Island 35 years ago. Sorry Will of Perdido Natural Adventures, learned to swim, fished, baptised, and lived on Perdido River for months at a time long before you were here.
So yeah, try to keep memories alive in something tangible as long as you can. For me, i've already told my children this home is probaby not where their future children will come to spend summers. Just don't think I could live here once it's turned into yuppyville like the Kingsfield Rd. area has become.

To me this was a place thats been there since day one in this community. Back when times were more simple this was a bar/resturant and on the west side was the Beaulah sausage festival, where they played such games as cow paddy bingo and such. Now it's moved to the fairgrounds and not so much fun anymore in my mind But you have transplants from other areas that think it's dangerous and a eyesore. So be it. But I do hope they rebuild, because I like a cold beer every now and then. God bless all the people and empoye
s that's involed in this.
