The Brevard Tax Collectors Office website explains what to expect at the Escambia County Tax Collector office.
Which is seriously lacking info on the subject.

@EMD

If somebody told you that it would take 90 days to get it either they didn't really know how long it was gonna take and just stated the standard wait time or they fibbed to you.

They are back logged and L.E CCW's get processed before the general public.My CCW instructor(Ron Beermunder) told me it would take just 90 days also. I waited 7 months to get mine and NO there were no surprises in my background.

Me and the wife did ours in fort walton. Recieved our license 7 days later. What are yall talking about a 90 day wait ? If it is the same service as William stated then it WILL NOT be a long wait once you get in and go through the finger printing, picture and background check.

Instead of driving to Fort Walton or the Escambia County Tax office above, you can download the application directly and get the process underway.
The tax office is doing nothing more than stocking the paperwork and maybe helping you fill it out if you can't read.

Still a 45 to 90 days turn around.

John you will still have a 90 day wait even mailing in. If you go to the appointment and they do it you get a tracking number for your application. I am not sure if there is any way to track it once it is mailed. The office scans everything and it is sent to Tallahassee, I personally think it is faster. I went on Oct 14 and got mine in the mail yesterday. By law they have to either deny or send you the permit within the 90 days (business days). Hope this helps with your decision.

I would like to avoid/cut down 90 day plus turn around time on receiving permit by mailing application, documents & payment to Tallahassee.
1)If I have everything ready to be mailed will this 1/20/2016 local appointment time be faster process/method on getting permit in hand ?
I also have received a website address from sheriff's office via fingerprint process and a TCN# for payment of fees,
2) Should I pay fees now online or wait till appointment time to pay fees??
Thanks for your help & response
