These projects don't just get created on the fly. They are planned, engineered, and budgeted for years before a single rock gets moved in construction. The Florida DOT's District 3 office is responsible for planning on state roads in rural Escambia County (basically north of Barrineau Park Road.) Citizen input into prioritization is welcome. If you want to change the priorities, then I suggest getting involved. South of Barrineau Park Road, the priorities are set by the Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization (which used to be called the Pensacola TPO until Orange Beach and Lillian, AL were added a few years back). The TPO has an extensive public input process as well if you'd like your voice heard on south end projects.

The people of Century and surrounding areas could have used a portion of this money to keep the Health and Hope Clinic open for all that have no insurance, but no, the state had to cut funds, and they always cut them from the ones who need it most, not like some of these businesses need this much tax differal.

Really, all the traffic problems in our county this is where we start. Maybe we should plant more Palm trees. That would help.
