This pathetic excuse for a human being hit my daughter as she was on her way to a Dr. appointment. I am thankful today for the EMT’s who were on site as well as the highway patrolmen. It’s a scary thought to get a call at work saying that your child has been in a car accident. A parents worse nightmare is arriving at a scene and not know what to expect. I thank God she did not suffer major injuries. We as a family have loss loved ones this year and I know she had guardian Angels with her. I can’t express our families gratitude to the EMT’s that were there for my daughter and the one EMT that went above and beyond his duties and ran after this guy after he fled on foot. Knowing this guy had a loaded gun, drugs, open container of alcohol and is driving around at 8 AM in the morning is a scary thought. I hope this time he is kept behind bars were he can’t hurt anyone else. We are blessed; this outcome could have been worse.

Man, I hate what that area has become! I spent part of my childhood in that area, it used to be so nice. A place where kids could go play at a friend’s house & their parents did not have to worry about them walking a short distance from home. Those days are gone in that area, Montclaire & Mayfair are just the same name now, not the same places.

When serial numbers are removed, it usually indicates a stolen weapon as well. So sad the number of times this 22-year old has spent in the county lockup. Praying for him and his victims.

Wilkens was charged by the FHP with leaving the scene of a crash involving injuries, leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, reckless driving causing property damage, no valid driver’s license, driving with suspended license second offense, possession new legend drug without prescription, possession of marijuana, failure to provide insurance in crash, open container of alcohol and not wearing seat belt. The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office charged him with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and altering or removing the serial number from a firearm. He remains in the Escambia County Jail with bond set at $50,000.
