Northview going up against larger class schools is not a new occurrence. Anyone can look as far back as its very first season. Granted northview itself was a larger class at that time also. However their still wasn't 2-3 district games a season.

Everyone likes a winning season I get it, but main thing is district. Two seasons that stand out to me regarding the issue of larger class schools would be the 97 and 98 season. Northview went 3-7 in 97 taking its first district title against all 5&6a schools except their district games. In 98 northview went 9-1and did not take district. This season again against all 5&6a schools except their district games. Huge accomplishment defeating so many larger schools no doubt, but at the end of the day season was over due to district loss.

Just my little insight ...GO CHIEFS

Northview is way more talented than their record indicates. They always play these larger schools tough. I listened to the Crestview Radio Broadcast and even the Crestview announcers were stating that for a small School Northview was a very tough opponent. They pointed out the intensity level the Cheifs played with that night. The next week they were at the same level of determination against Gulf Breeze. The Cheifs need to ignore their loss record for this year and refocus on the Playoffs and State. I say right now that Northview has the Talent to win State again this year. If they will find their game again and play with determination they can use their loss record and catch other teams relaxed and not taking them seriously.

>>Why is Northview playing the huge high school teams? Why are they not playing schools closer to their own size?

Multiple reasons...once they won state a few years ago, little teams no longer wanted to play them; scheduling problems; distance (being in the far corner of the state)
