There hasn’t been a bear hunt in 21 years. How does that equate to the dreaded “Annual NRA Great Bear Slaughter”?

Good job on keeping the culling to an acceptable level even though it meant shutting it down “early”.
I hope that the hunters were true hunters and utilized the kill to it’s fullest extent. Bear meat can be excellent and the hide has many uses. I hope to have the opportunity at a future date should the numbers swell to a dangerous level.
I don’t much care for trophy hunters…such a waste for a petty ego.

One hunt in 21 years does not make it an annual hunt.
If you do not support the hunt then you should support the state imposing hefty fines for feeding the “cute bear” on purpose or providing easy pickins via unsecured garbage, etc.

If in a 2 day period they managed to wipe out 10% of the bear population, Had they continued to hunt as planned they would have erased every bear in the State of Florida. I am amazed but glad that at least one official in the department of Fish and Wildlife has not failed Math. Lets hope they don’t plan a month long hunt for next year.
