I remember when I was a kid there was a bottling system there, as well as the old Coke a Cola building on Palafox in Pensacola. I remember when I was a kid we would pass it on the way to the S&H green stamp store. The line would be moving, bottles marching.

If you notice the large frontage windows, I think that was to appeal to the public’s fascination with the mechanized. It was interesting to observe.

Those bottles moved through there pretty fast.

I wonder how they decide which is the best bottler. I mean, a bottle of Pepsi is a bottle of Pepsi, right? That having been said, the award must surely be based on the PEOPLE who operate the facility. (I’m sure there are other “mechanical” aspects of it such as how many returns due to errors in the processing and such, but it must be mostly based on the human side.) That says a lot about Atmore’s Pepsi-SAV family!

I remember when I was ten years old, I would walk down Church street past the Pepsi building, on my way to the Strand theater, for the matinee.

That business has been there through many changes in times and society.
