In all my years of WATCHING OUT FOR MOTORCYCLES I have not seen any motorcyclist, no not one, TEXTING while cruising down the road. I see motorist TEXTING all the time while driving. We need to keep our eyes on the road and look out for each other.

I was involved in a motorcycle crash with a car cause the person ran a stop sign
Cause she was on her phone and and I spent the next 3-4 months in the hospital
So I truly am glad he only had a broken legg I wasn’t as lucky I had more serious
Injuries so please ppl watch out for motorcycles they are on the highway every
Where yes you do have some careless riders on crotchrickets but you also have
Safe riders out there who just enjoy the feel of the wind in there face.

If everybody would look out for everybody, we’d all be better off, also, these motorcyclists want us to look out for them & expect it, but, they don’t want to do anything but drive, like they’re privileged or something, I try not to stereotype all of them, it gets hard. There are a lot of irresponsible drivers though not just them, sitting @ a red light awhile back, got looked @ pretty hard, wasn’t even doing anything, but guess who was? The other truck, who was inching & trying to time that new light in Molino & I guess trying to get hit, because he ended all the way out into the middle of everybody. Just saying

@James, you can’t let a few irresponsible motorcyclist keep you from looking out for responsible motorcyclists, that is just idiotic justification for not caring at all. That is the issue with many drivers. One day when you get ran down by a thoughtless, careless driver you’ll change your opinion.

you know I want to look out for the motorcyclists and then I see the kid on a rice rocket coming onto I-110 from the downtown ramp pulling a wheelie as he ramps up to 90 mph or the group heading to the beach on Sunday afternoon screaming over the three mile bridge and I say what the heck – let them look out for themselves

I got a update on the rider. He just came out of surgery. He had a broken leg and knee. He is okay and in recovery

Riding a streetbike is more dangerous now than ever, with texting, cellphone usage, etc. Ride like you are invisible, because to car & truck drivers you are. Watch your mirrors at stoplights, intersections, & check them often when moving, you never know when some idiot will be speeding along & run you over. Don’t think loud pipes will save you either, lotsa drivers have the stereo amped up so loud they hear nothing. Watch for grease spots at intersections, if you go down because of one you have tons of steel coming behind you & you are subject to death.

Interesting to note that a riding suit that acts like an airbag has been developed.

I am not sure who was at fault. And I agree, we need to watch for bikes. However, the bike riders also need to be responsible. I have witnessed so many wreckless bikers just in the past week! Maybe it was the other driver’s fault, I don’t know, but everyone seems to think the driver of the truck was not watching out for the bike. Let’s give benefit of the doubt before blaming him.
