Then enjoying a nice game of Ice Flyers hockey that night. Maybe next year it'll be on a different day and festival planners will actually look at surrounding events that may be of conflict. That's not counting the college football games that day; FSU -v- Clemson, Alabama -v- LSU, Auburn -v- Texas A & M. Hopefully it will be succesful and those attending will have a great time. Pensacola will get the best vendors on the 5-7 November weekend. Century will be left with the castoffs, even if they get any at all to show up. I agree that Century's event should be moved to cooler weather; however, you'd think that those in charge would make an informed decision on the other events in the area at the same time. These things are no longer family-friendly, and have less and less to do with art, and more and more to do with loud bands and cheap beer. I applaud Century for the move to a cooler season when people can actually enjoy the event. I think this will be more successful than Oversight assumes. People who want to enjoy local events, something that they can take kids and friends to without fear of encountering drunks and rampant vulgarity will opt for this type of thing over the long drive downtown, the price-gouging parking spaces, the shoulder to shoulder crowds, and the bombarding obscenity.
