Much less studied horticulture. I agree the industry is being overtaken by greed, power, money, and taxes. For you to label it simply as dope shows how little you have researched the subject. I agree BT, let people grow a few plants for personal use, case closed. But no they won’t let you do that because the state won’t get their cut from it. Charlotte’s Web was made legal for medical how long ago? And it is still not available for those who need it, like the children it was intended for. How sad is that?

So sick of politics in Florida, it has to be one of the top five most corrupt states in America.

@BT–that’s the whole point though. They don’t want anyone growing it in their backyard. If that were so, you can bet they wouldn’t so easily forfeit the legal ravket they have now.
Misdemeanor possession ; go to county court where the judge is more like an auctioneer. You’ll hear so many $373 dollar fines it’ll make your head spin. Then probation@ $55 pet month. Maybe some community service which you can “buy out” @ $8 an hour (you’ll have a min. of 50 hrs.). A drug evaluation at your expense and oddly maybe even a mental health evaluation. You must comply with any reccomendations or treatment again, at your own cost. This in addition to bail or attorney fees.
So they must make money.
Sure wish this was still the America the writers of our constitution envisioned. Sadly, it’s not even close.

All they are doing is changing the type of criminal that controls pot.

Let people grow it in their backyards and you won’t have a need for connected people or street thugs.

I heard that Plank Nursery in Navarre was eligible to grow the medical marijuana. JJ you’re right, it’s all politics and greed. Probably the whole reason it’s not legal already is because they had to figure out how to their claws in the money. This law doesn’t help the entrepreneur at all. Once the government’s involved, eventually Monsanto will get control of the seeds, and the good seeds will be illegal. The Porch Indians can do what they want though. They were smart to get out from under our control.

What really bothers me about this whole thing is how almost every applicant is “connected” to a politician. Lobbyists and fundraisers that work for Rick Scott. This is ridiculous! It’s politics as usual, in Florida. Only the well connected, rich people getting an opportunity to have a business like this. It doesn’t matter what committee selects the organization to “grant” a business license to, it will be someone who has “political” connections. This is why our country is in the trouble we are in, now; special favors and special interests. I’m tired of politicians.
