The FWC was checking my boat the other day. He asked if he could look in my ice chest. I told him, look all you want but keep your hands out of it. My drinks are in there and I don’t know where your hands have been. Some of these officers are on a power trip. The chest had some cokes and ice in it, but of coarse he couldn’t see that. He wanted to put his hands in the chest and stir things around. Just say NO.

These officers are more interested in busting people for alcohol than poaching. Lieutenant Hahr pretty much lives at Fillingim landing. Don’t assume that just because you are out in the woods there isn’t someone in the bushes with binoculars watching everything you do.

Anyone can argue but there is one sole reason. He has grown accustomed to writing tickets. Same as at Filingim Landing. They care not of keeping it “family oriented” or anything such that i know many want to believe. It is strictly a revenue source, period. Lt. Hahr is a very fair man however. He’s more old school than his subordinates (as much as he can be i suppose).
I ride Perdido frequently. It’s beautiful and only see other people in the summer on about a 10 mile stretch. Although i suspect soon FWC will be patrolling this little piece of sanctuary. I’ve been contemplating moving to Alabama just so they can’t mess with me and because of the yankee/yuppie mentality that is invading North Escambia.
To FWC: Start patrolling Escambia at night and get some real violaters.

“They have a lot of confusion on if they are police or wildlife officers” . . . They are “State Law Enforcement Officers” and they have no “confusion” about it. Technically, they have wider scope of law enforcement authority than a State Trooper or Deputy Sheriff! Additionally, don’t be surprised is you get inspected multiple times because they know that people will think they can sneak by an illegal catch because they were already inspected earlier!

Shiloh,it happened to me the other day too.I don’t know what is going on with these “officers” but it needs to stop.They have a lot of confusion on if they are police or wildlife officers.If they would worry on wild life and the serious poaching problem we have around here the harassment would go down.

I have a question for anyone that knows. While I was fishing in the mouth of Escambia river a FWC boat pulled up and inspected my boat, asked for my fishing license which I don’t have to have since I am 73 years old. After 45 minutes of their bull, they left. About an hour later I was fishing father out into Escambia bay. Same FWC boat inspected everything again Took about an hour this time. About an hour and a half, same FWC boat pulled up again. Was I mad? You can bet the farm that I had enough of the idiots checking my boat over and over. What is wrong with these people?
