So what you are saying is that just because nothing bad happened in your case, we should assume this case would be the same and simply ignore the law? You and your grandfather may have had great morals and entered into a long relationship with the other person, but we have predators out there with less honorable intentions. We have laws to protect young people from older people that would take advantage of them. Furthermore, finding somebody not guilty because you don’t agree with the law completely undermines our system and I would think that as somebody who served in the navy, you would understand the value of following established rules and holding people accountable for their actions. If we disagree with the law, we fight to change it. But we don’t give people a pass.
