Clean sweep is not only to pick up trash…it’s also to serve warrants…issue citations…It doesn’t matter if the people are receiving assistance from the state. What does that have to do with anything? Seriously some of the comments are ridiculous. Take a look at yourself before judging someone else. Remember when you start pointing fingers…there are 4 more pointing back at you.

its funny how people completely run down and destroy areas they live in if they don’t work for what they have, get ebt cards for free food and hud to pay for their rent.. Its almost like they don’t respect or care for anything.

I’d suggest that the bad guys make 9 1/2 mile Rd. as far north as you take your criminal activities.
If you progress much farther north, they’ll have to change the name from “Operation Clean Sweep” to “Operation Shop Vac”. That’s what it will take to remove your remains.
We like things safe and quiet up here and if it takes a few rounds ringing out in the night when you get caught breaking into a house or harassing a citizen, well…that’s the price many are willing to pay to see your criminal activity stopped for good.
You’ve been warned. Your mothers will weep.

Operation Clean Sweep can be requested by a local neighborhood watch group but the wait list is long. The following is just for information and not trying to conflict with any opinions previously made. The Road Prison does an excellent job when I’ve called them. The crew of prisoners comes out within a few days. Some of what they do are fill potholes on main roads and in neighborhoods, cut back brush/limbs blocking road signs, clean out drainage ditches and mow roadsides where the overgrowth is a problem. All you have to do is call and ask if the area you’re inquiring about is covered as well as the issue. The number to call is (850) 937-2120. At least these prisoners are providing some type of physical help to the county through this work. Hope this helps.

As for clean sweep, i could think of much more deserving areas to go to. Im sure it was a ssomebody knows somebody thing.
In regards to inmates picking up trash, what do you do when inmates refuse ? Don’t say keep them longer because we can’t. Second, it would be akin to suspending a kid for skipping class. Defeating the whole purpose. I know that if the best possible job to be had in life were $10/hr working like a dog in this heat, i would probably break some laws. Dont say go to school cause convicted felons are prohibited from doing many things by law. The things they can do, they wont get hired for due to fed govt. and insurance companies pushing that agenda so now its SOP at most companies.

You are exactly right Dan, jail /prison seems to be no deterrent to the criminals – meals, medical care, shelter, and recreation all provided at the taxpayers expense. Incarceration should include hard labor with the stipulation of you don’t work you don’t eat – quit catering to the scumbags . Make the consequences of committing crimes a living hell for them…

WOW! I saw everyone out there, thanks so much! Now to the general population please stop throwing trash out on the road,. And please stop speeding through our neighborhoods, I would never speed through your neighborhood .Lets all respect everyone elses “Village” I love the Pensacola area.
Wish developers had thought about side walks, wow sidewalks would be so nice.

Think how clean our communities would be if the had inmates working everyday picking up trash. I like the clean sweep and is needed everywhere I agree.

Clean sweep sounds good in my area too. We should get more work out of the Guys that are locked up. They should do something to pay Society back for all the cost involved in their cases and keeping them. I wish the ESO would bring their finger printing crew out in the clean sweep and fingerprint all the cups, food containers and etc. and prosecute. Some People are just plain out nasty.
