I am a friend of her son Devan, which I’ve known him since grade school he was one of my best friends & I also knew Ms.Melanie well she was a sweet lady and was always kind to me, she also treated me like family when I was around. I can even remember the last thing she said to me & that still plays in my head over and over. When i got the news today i was in a state of shock i still cant believe this is real im so heartbroken and in disbelief,
I don’t even know what to say to my friend and that’s what hurts the most. But their was nothing that could have saved her life not even a seat belt when God calls you home its your time he wanted his angel and he got her. Sending my condolences and prayers to the family. You will truly be missed Ms.Melanie

Please be kind with your comments, her family lost their only child. She was a mother of two, a grandmother, and a wife. Plenty of people speed by me everyday. We all know the seatbelt would have helped her, it is very sad that she didn’t have it on. May she rest in peace

Its Dylan her son I’m so upset but she’s not hurtin no more thanx to everybody that tried but she’s gone now and I pray and I tell her I luv her every day thanx everybody and plz watch driving it happened so fast it tore apart my fourteens years I got to know her tho and she was the best ever luv u mama .

It’s so sad to read a stories like this. It sounds like something as simple as wearing her seatbelt, would have saved her life. I pray it’s a lesson to everyone who reads this and maybe as a result people are more conscious of wearing their seatbelt. Maybe other lives will be saved.

Reading a story about a dealy vehicle crash that contains “High rate of speed” and “not wearing a seatbelt” makes me cringe knowing there are folks out there that DO NOT THINK it is important enough to SLOW DOWN and wear a seatbelt AT ALL TIMES. May God rest her soul.
