Every attempt to stop the death penalty procedures is an attempt to stop the death penalty just as every attempt to make abortion more difficult is really an attempt to stop abortion.

People should be honest about their goals but aren’t.

If anyone wanted to eliminate the pain aspect of killing killers, they would kill them with a mixture of 95% nitrogen, 5% carbon dioxide. Nitrogen is not toxic but without oxygen, it does not support life.
Carbon dioxide at that level would keep breathing going until all oxygen was gone.
The killer would be unconscious then dead with no pain, no blood.

Those who want killers to suffer would be unhappy.
Those wanting to save killers would be unhappy.

Who cares if these horrible people suffer as they are getting their just desserts. This is sooo silly to even worry about. Humane is not a word that belongs anywhere near these people. Things like this are just so far out of proportion to what is important in society today.

If Mr. McClain’s opinion is true and Justice Breyer’s dissent lays the ground work for a broader challenge in this 5-4 decision, then the same can be said for Justice Scalia’s strongly-worded dissent in the gay marriage 5-4 decision.
