I was the first on the scene for this wreck. It was a terrible situation. Many people stopped to help. It was a very sad situation. My heart goes out for the three in the vehicle and their families. It was a flood of reality to my teenage daughter who has her learners permit and learning to drive.

Drove past this on my way South on Friday. Checked tire tracks on way back Sunday and it looked as if the driver tried to miss the guard rail by going left into the ditch and then cut the wheel back too hard to cause a flip.

RB, a truck driver once told my.mom that the straight stretches lull people to sleep. They tend to pay closer attention in curvy spots. Lots of wrecks in this area. Several fatalities.

I was just that way this weekend pulling trailer for camping. Going speed limit or a few mph over and there were people passing on double lines, on hills and curves. Given what I saw its only a matter of time for these people to remove themselves from the gene pool.

I’m a truck driver and I’m not sure what caused this but the number of people I watch ride by me on a daily basis 99 percent of them have that phone in their hand texting or either on Facebook or something. Social media has taking over people’s life and it’s costing some of them there life’s. Friday alone just one day there was a wreck at the 215 mile marker one at the 73 mile marker and then this one at the 63 just in one day three different accident and like I said I don’t k ow what caused them all but with what I see people are In to big of a hurry to get where they are going and in that phone.

My concern is not how cool the Doctor’s Jeep looked. I’m more concerned about the families involved. My prayers are with the families during their lost of a son, uncle, cousin, nephew, father, co-worker or best friend. May the LORD be with them.

The cool looking jeep in the pic belongs to a doctor who so graciously stopped to help. I’ve worked this stretch of I-65 for the past 15 years as a voluteer fireman and emt. I’m not sure if it is more or less dangerous than any other stretch but I do know that there have been some horrific crashes and lost of life between the 61 and 74 mile markers. Also I know these crashes seem to come in intervals, we will go for moths with out a bad accident and then they come one after another for a period of time. I’ve worked as many as nine in one day in this same area, not of the magnitude of this accident or the other four in the last six weeks but crashes just the same. To often speed seems to be the overwhelming factor then you add alcohol and you have the combination for this type tragedy. I’m speaking in general terms and not this specific crash.
