Please spruce up the road through Century on Highway 29. I agree with CLC but I think they mean State Highway 29. See what can be done. The house that got hit by the car, the car wash next to a paint and body, even a coat of paint on it would look better. A dead tree in front of Burger King and a fence falling over in the back, Even the weeds are tall around the Gulf Power sub station. especially spruce up the area around the Welcome to Florida and Century sign.

I think the funds would be better spent cleaning up the riff raff from Century or improving communities especially those that are on 31. A new business center means nothing if you can't draw new business to the area because of the reputation the city has.

I drove through Century yesterday on my way to Brewton and saw 3 young females walking on the sidewalk down 31. All 3 females were dressed with very tight clothing(what clothing they had on). My teenagers thought they were prostitutes. I also saw an older gentleman, stumbling down the middle of the road toward the corner liquor store. I realize that lady liberty still stands in the harbor but I'm a nobody driving through Century. Imagine what business owners read in the newspapers about shootings, robberies and other criminal offenses or what they see when they drive through town.

The city looks like a city that has been around for a century. It has gas stations,a church, liquor store, Whataburger and a run down Burger King, a pharmacy, people selling things out of a rundown building, mobile homes that are in desperate need of repair,a used car dealer,a building(advertising it's out of business. For the last 3 yrs at least) next to the park that looks horrible with hand painted(faded paint as if that really matters) and a car wash that doesnt even work. Even the sheriffs office seems old.
