I just believe there would not be any reason for a person to be cited beyond the third offense. If alcohol or drugs are involved these penalties are added to those convicted under the statutes pertaining to alcohol and drugs. But, maybe this will have some impact if officers will just start pulling people over for doing it. The problem is fools are killing people because of distracted driving, and all the laws in the world will not stop a fool..........simple answer........block all cell phone use in a car when the car is in drive or reverse. Pull over and park if you NEED to use your phone. Will legislators ever learn that making the statute book a foot thick has accomplished nothing. Solve problems and do not create one more revenue source for a broken criminal justice system. Cell phone blockers in every new car where a car is not in park.....no more money for the Sheriff of Nottingham, no more dead people from distracted drivers, and no more wheelbarrows to carry the Florida statute books.
