I don’t think you commenters are understanding the full story above. The money in question is already owed to the State as I read it, but the Feds are tying it to a different expansion program that will cost the State billions in the future. It is a classic carrot on a stick or bait & switch deal in my opinion. Suck the State in with the promise of funds now, then stick them with costly billions in the future from expansion programs. chillywilly–So sorry we can’t give everything to everyone with our limited tax dollars.

So let me get this straight. Rick Scott is sueing the federal government so they will keep giving Florida money to provide health care for poor people, while simultaneously refusing to accept money from the federal government to provide poor people with health care? Does no one see a problem with this? Somebody better check the books on the LIP program and see where that money is going, Rick Scott has sort of a history with taxpayer money ending up in his pocket.

Gov. Flim Flam rejects the new Medicare funds that would help low income patients, then he says he will take it but now he says he won’t and sues the Feds because now, all of sudden he is concerned about low income patients. Maybe I should call him Gov. Flip Flop, maybe he’s going after the Feds because they fined his former company 1.6 billion for Medicare fraud.
