BobC: I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago at a very prominent restaurant. One I do go to much because it is expensive. I told her I have lived on the Gulf Coast my entire life and other than white trout, have never heard of a local fish called whitefish.

She really couldn’t tell me what it was but did say they had never had complaints. I went ahead and ordered it and it was very good. My guess was Cod. Have never caught a Cod here though…

I’ve seen truck catch fire like that before from a flat tire on dual wheel axles also. Sometimes they don’t notice it being flat due to the other tires being inflated.

Was in one of our better seafood restaurants and the waitress told us that one of the Specials for the day was “White Fish”.
I asked what kind of fish was a white fish…she did not know.
Honestly, I don’t know either.
Perhaps it was White Fish in the truck that was burned.

I’d trade frozen fish to eat than any fish from the oil tainted Gulf of Mexico. Don’t forget that dolphin that died recently that had oil internally.

There are quite a few local restuarants serving frozen seafood in the areas. Its more affordable than the local markets.

Here is my question, unless it is Atlantic Cod for fish and chips, what in the world are Pensacola restaurants brining in frozen fish for?

Nothing like our local restaurants expecting a delivery of frozen seafood. Fresh from the gulf is so much better! Maybe this will force them to buy it and serve it. Just food for thought.
