I remember when I was at Tate and we lost Wendell Black to a truck accident. I didn't know Wendell very well, but it struck close to home for all of us. Young people, guys especially (myself included) have a tendency to feel invincible. Don't let a tragedy strike in order to be reminded of your humanity.

I still get reminded of losing a very popular high school cheerleader friend many years ago. The entire school was in total shock! An automobile accident took her life from us and I just thought about her again as I watched the crews demolishing some of the old Ernest Ward High School buildings last week. We as parents and now even grandparents really need to pay special attention to these grieving students, even when they think they're ok. There's never a good time for tragedy but this is certainly a critical time of occurrence because of spring break. Some students may not have any activity plans and will not be around piers as normal and with their parents working they could be without any outside influence at all.

Even classmates, if you know someone or just happen to notice, HTU
This is Your Family! Thanks, Elmo
