I'm glad they're almost finished with the road. I think we should be glad that it is safer now. Instead of complaining about the trash or the polit car we should reamber the people that have lost their lives on this road in the past year , while all the construction was in process. Let's take a minute to consider that families will be forever changed, lives loss and all anyone wants to do is complain. Everyone please Slow down drive safely and STOP COMPLAINING. If your reading this you woke up this morning and that's a lot better than some .

Kelly, they should be coming back and adding a second layer of asphalt to what is there now. If you notice the concrete driveways have a small lip which when they come back with the top layer will smooth these areas out as well as the shoulders.

Why did they leave two sections of Muscogee Rd unpaved?
I have never understood why they didn't repave the last section of 97 in the curve.
Anyone know?

The roads are great ! It has been a long project for whatever reasons but the end result should be IMPROVEMENT and that's what we have. The roads are safer, smoother and better drainage. Once they get the construction materials cleaned up it will look great. We needed this done and I am thankful.

It looks good and very nice and after job is complete they will clean up and it will look great. My only 2 complaints thus far is the straight section between Perdido River Rd and Vantage Rd that they paved way back when then added the paved shoulders is very rough and uneven on the white line and also has a few "potential pot holes" due to the fact that they added the paved shoulders after paving the road. The remainder of the road they paved shoulders then paved the road so it is a very smooth ride on the edge of the white line. I sure hope they repair that section as it is not done correctly and is not a satisfactory job. Only other complaint is it would be nice for the paved shoulders to be smooth they are very bumpy.

David, this vehicle is in mint condition. It has none of the wear and tear such a vehicle would show, and has no toolbox or construction or utility rigging on it. It has Pilot Car PAINTED on it instead of a magnet, which makes me believe that it is a designated-purpose vehicle. Also no trailer hitch. It could possibly carry cones, or signs in the bed, but I do not see it used as such. Maybe they could put all the litter on the side of the road in it and do a dump run. Also, as far as it goes with businesses and taxes, yeah, buying a specific purpose vehicle is not a bad idea- I am not allowed to use my personal vehicle mileage/gas as a business expense if I use it at work; I had to buy a second vehicle I didn't "need" to do that, and lo and behold, I ended up profiting off of that decision.

REGARDING,
"They use a gas-guzzling 4×4 F-250 as a pilot car to lead vehicles over flat pavement. Incompetence abounds"

They probably use the vehicle for multiple purposes.
It isn't usually cost effective to buy a separate vehicle for every possible purpose.
