I had dated a dear friend of his, Maury Smith for several years while all of us were at Auburn. Ed was like a big brother to me. I am 89 years old. In the past few months I have been cleaning out old files, etc. and throwing away a lot of letters, etc., when I found the letter from Ed. He was a very, very fine man. HIs entire family should be very happy about their wonderful Christian heritage they have from Ed. Blessing to all of you--- Biddy Barfield Hammett--- Columbus, GA... I married to the late Paul L. Hammett, Jr. , of LaGrange, GA. He was a 4th generation furniture dealer,. After he sold his buisness we moved to Columbus where I have a lot of family.
